Porter went on his first camp out last weekend with Matt. It was a father-son camp out at the exotic Zion (church) building: ). Matt wanted to do a practice run to see how Porter would do for future possible camping trips. Porter was so excited it was too cute! We packed his backpack... what do you pack a three year old? A pull-up, flashlight, and crayons.

They watched a movie but had to start it kind of late because it didn't get dark for a while. Porter crashed when it was almost over at about 9:45 pm which is a late bedtime for him. He woke up at 5:15 am which is early for him and Matt did everything he could to keep him in the tent but Porter wasn't having it. Everyone else was still asleep so Matt had a brilliant idea to take Porter across the street to play at the park. Poor Matt at a park when it's still dark outside and he wants to be in bed. They went back about an hour later to have breakfast. They had a great time and Porter loved it!

Oh man, that was SO cute. Makes me want to go camping, except for the no sleep part.
I love that proud/excited look of the happy camper before his adventure.
